OverviewOverview

My Time at Sandrock is a life-simulating role-play game where you restore a run down town. It's set in the same wholesome yet post-apocalyptic world as My Time at Portia. You start by working as a builder, but soon discover a world of things to do and people to help.

It's up to you to gather resources, build machines, workshops and production machine to restore the town's former glory. As you do this, you explore a huge desert world with ruins to find, ancient relics from the Old World, dangerous dungeons and their denizens.

Your workshop is an intricate set of machines that produce parts of the structures needed for the town. Each is assembled piece by piece at first. You can also craft items needed by over 30 characters, with their own story.

As you progress you learn to fight, level up your skills and hone a character that excels at either crafting, combat or social skills depending on your play style. Eventually you will have the town built and can take your profits and convert the empty prairie lands around you into farmable land for a more leisurely lifestyle, then sell your crops, or transform them into delicious dishes.

Age RatingsAge Ratings

Content Rating

Rated PEGI 7 because it features non-realistic violence in a child-friendly setting or context, mild violence that lacks any apparent harm or injury to human-like characters and violence that lacks any apparent harm or injury to fantasy or mythical beings and creatures. The game contains non-realistic violence in a child-friendly setting and unrealistic violence against fantasy characters. For example, players can attack colourful llamas to get crafting material. These llamas vanish in a puff of smoke when defeated. The game also contains minor violence against human-like characters. Players can ‘spar’ with townspeople meaning they can deal out punches, none of the characters will show injuries or suffering, however.

Skill Rating

7+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. The simple exploration and gentle gameplay work for younger players. You do need to have some tenacity in planning and building to progress, but there's little time pressure on this. Design and layout skills also mean players can enjoy the character maker and home customisation aspects. The combat elements may require some adult input for the very young.
