OverviewOverview

Parkasaurus is a strategy simulation game where you create a dinosaur park for people to visit. You need to construct well-designed exhibits, research specialised technology and maximize profits so you can expand with more dinosaurs. It combines pet (dinosaur) care with theme park management to create an approachable blend of fun and business.

Play involves hatching your dinosaurs and then laying out different zones of the park. In each enclosure you place plants, houses and other adornments. For visitors you provide conveniences, stores and other entertainment.

It looks simple but each dinosaur needs a unique biosphere environment, materials, foliage, ecology, plants, elevation and humidity. You also need to spend wisely to ensure you can build a profitable park. You can read reviews from visitors and ask them questions. This enables you to fine-tune your parks flow and arrangement to maximize their experience. You also need to train up employees or bring established veterans to help run your park smoothly.

There is no difficulty mode, but you adjust the amount of money and technology you start with via the Sandbox mode. You can pause the game and build as much as you like. The game doesn't have a fail state and dinosaurs can't die but you can lose buildings and have to pay to replace it.

There are built in assists to highlight the location of the cursor and determine where items will be built. There are tips in the game to help guide you as what you should do next in the game to progress.

Where missions require you to build something the game provides on the appropriate button. The game also indicates where to go in the game world in missions.

You can't access a map of buttons or keys but the game indicates what buttons you need to press as part of the user interface. You need to hold a button and drag the stick to specify a build range.

Because you can zoom right into the world you can play with large game elements. Also selected items are highlighted with blue brackets.
