Patrick's Parabox is a puzzle game where you move, and move through, boxes within boxes. Like a Russian doll, inside each box is another level that you can navigate to create a nested set of puzzles. It's an equally mind-bending and elegant experience as you work to solve each puzzle.

In each level, you are given a set of boxes which you need to get to certain parts of the level, before moving your own character, a small cube with eyes, to a specific position. However, many of the boxes you push contain their own levels inside of them which you also need to complete, and some even contain miniature replicas of the level you're playing, complete with a tiny version of your character that can interact with the objects inside.

By pushing boxes or your cube against an opening in the side of a box, you can shrink and move inside it. This enables you to access new areas of levels and change your relative position compared to other boxes.

In levels where a box contains a replica of the level, there are often gaps in the walls. Leaving these exits results in the miniature you from inside the box doing the same thing, expanding and becoming the primary character, allowing you, in a way, to teleport through the space and reach new areas.

It's a very unusual puzzle game with a core mechanic that makes you pause and approach the levels from new perspectives, requiring thinking, patience, perseverance and determination to beat.

Our Patrick's Parabox Accessibility Report documents 29 accessibility features:
There are no difficulty settings and many of the levels, especially later on, are very complex and require a great deal of thinking to beat. You can undo and redo moves and restart levels, and there are no time limits or pressures. There is a setting to unlock all levels in the game and make them freely accessible. It can be toggled on/off at any time. This is similar to "Guaranteed Progress With God Mode".

The level takes up the entire screen, with large game elements throughout. Although the levels within the boxes appear small, once you move inside them they expand to fill the entire screen.

Behind the level is a black background that contains moving grey particles, which may be distracting for some players. There is a setting to disable particles. There is a setting for a grid lines overlay. There is a setting to speed up, slow down, and disable camera motion. There are differently-coloured boxes in the game. The hue of boxes is used only to differentiate boxes from each other; specific colours like red or green do not have any gameplay meaning.

There is a setting to adjust how quickly the player will move again while continuing to hold down a movement control. The game has a feature to zoom in on boxes, which requires the mouse, but this feature is not required to play the game.
