Project Winter is a multiplayer survival game. Up to 8 people work to survive the winter by gathering resources, repairing structures, and braving the wilderness dangers together. However, up to two people are traitors within the group and try to dash your chances of getting out alive.

The players trying to survive have objectives to complete and call in one of several rescue vehicles. To do this you need to break rocks, harvest berries and herbs, and cut down trees to earn crafting materials used to repair objectives, and help keep you alive. You can find additional help in crates.

The traitor saboteur players try and stop the survivors escaping, without being identified or killed. Fellow traitors are revealed at the start. You can use crates and secret hatches to gain advantage of equipment or to quickly travel to different locations. You can spend points on special abilities, use traps, poison and other tools to kill or hinder the survivors. Of course, you need to be careful when doing this so as to blend in with them.

Survivors cannot escape unless they work together. You can communicate with others who are nearby with voice chat as well as private voice chat radio channels, text chat and emotes. You can customise the game with rules and different modes. Add some flair to your character with cosmetics that can be bought with our in-game currency earned after each match.

This is best experienced when played with a group of friends, rather than random online people. In this way it offers a great way to develop strategies. It's currently on PC but Project Winter Xbox and PlayStation versions are planned.
