Play involves moving your character around the room tiles, dragging your cape behind you. By doing so you can assist Ladies and Bishops across mud formations that "threaten to dirty their precious hems". As they are moving as well as you, the challenge is to coordinate your movement with the goal of escorting the upper classes to their designated exit.
As you progress things get more tricky. Capes can tear and heads can be stepped on through over 100 levels. You soon learn to use elements in each level to help with the solution. Tearing up capes, holding down drawbridges and performing other tactical manoeuvres. But mistake-making and experimentation enabled by Undo and Reset functions. There's no rush as you can take all the time in the world to think and analyse.
The result is a fresh take on logic puzzles without the usual pressure plates, keys to collect or boxes to push.

Most of the text in the game is fairly large, with the exception of level select screen. Being able to read the small text is not required to progress.
The game supports gamepad, mouse, touch or keyboard and they can be switched on the fly. There are a few different settings for touch/mouse controls, though the drag-based controls are the most polished.
The game offers unlimited undo and reset within levels and there are no time limits of any kind.
