Play OverviewPlay Overview

Ravine (2017) is a cooperative strategy card game about surviving the aftermath of a plane crash. You make choices on how to spend your Heart tokens - forage for food, craft a fire or build shelters. You need to manage your resources and make group decisions about risks, but things are kept simple (and almost party-game-like).

You start by determining what items and injuries you escaped the crash with. Then, during the Day-Phase, you spend hearts to leave camp and forage for Supply and Food cards. At sunset, you decide how to share what you've found and whether to craft items. This (hopefully) prepares you for the Night-Phase where weather, wild animals and events put you and your team to the test.

A further twist is that if you get down to one heart you "go mad" which adds extra challenges (singing, dancing, staring thumb war challenges) to you and the group. Lose all of your hearts and you die. The group keeps playing without you.

The result is a game where you are forced to weigh up how to work together to survive. As different players lose or gain health, the balance of who needs equipment and sustenance the most changes. Into this, the Madness card injects fun and silliness.
