The novelty, apart from some high-quality cinematic storytelling, is Joule's colour-coded weapon. You need to use the right colour to attack the right enemy along with some other puzzle-solving elements. As you find blueprints you can upgrade your weapons and robots.
Although the game hasn't been a huge hit, for those that enjoy exploring and collecting it really is great fun. There is a Recore Definitive Edition available that improves visuals and adds a new adventure, “Eye of Obsidian” and a new T8-NK corebot who joins Joule. If you have the original game you can download these updates for free.
Skill Rating10-14 year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Still, it's important for parents and guardians to consider the maturity required to process the game content.
