Overview
Rescue: Under Pressure is an adventure exploration game. Your task is to explore the sea and find treasure in the dark. But to do this you need the help of another player on the sonar to guide you. It's a game designed to work for players with mixed abilities.
The Pilot drives the submarine through the frightening underwater caves. But they can't see anything that's not immediately around them. This role is a visual challenge but doesn't rely on sound. The Engineer has a sonar that relies on sound to identify nearby hazards. This role is an auditory challenge that has been designed to be accessible for blind players.
It's a short small game, designed for a study of inclusive games for players with mixed visual abilities. Players must work together, each on their own device, to navigate the ocean and come back with treasure. As you build up a stock of valuable orbs and treasure the Engineer can craft items to help the mission: torpedos and flares.
The result is a game that creates unique and engaging collaboration between players of different gaming experience and/or levels of sight. It's short but can be played multiple times.
