Play Overview
Revenant Hill is a narrative adventure set in 1919 where you play a cat called Twigs where animals and people lead lives next to each other. Play involves making connections and earning friendships from interactions, social deduction and some light farming. It stands out for how it looks, and the promise of merging Night in the Woods style characters with The Sims social engineering.
It's a game about building a community after Twigs makes a wet log their home. Along with getting to know your human and animal neighbours you can grow crops to sell at the market, make friends and figure out what the local ghosts want.
As you progress you put down roots and watch the seasons pass. Your social ambitions can grow as you host increasingly ambitious parties for witches and demons (and other things that don't have proper names). You can even make some of the people you meet your family if you play your cards right.
The result is a game by some of the people who created Night in the Woods. It has a similar aesthetic but takes the play in different directions. Get tangled up in a world in the midst of violent change. Build a community by accident. Square dance with a possum. Eat mice.
