Play OverviewPlay Overview

Rob Riches (2021) is a puzzle game about a treasure hunter in search of precious artefacts. You carefully navigate a safe path through the small stages, pushing blocks, avoiding pitfalls, and collecting the coins to advance to the next stage. Like Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker you can see the whole stage in one, but here there are no enemies or time limits so you can focus on brain-teasing puzzles.

You play Rob Riches, an Indiana Jones-like figure who explores ruins, temples, and shrines to find relics for his museum. To reach the treasures hidden deep within, you must evade ancient traps and crumbling pitfalls, solve countless puzzles, and gather all the coins to unlock the doors.

To do this you must traverse each level's grid to gather coins that unlock the way forward. This involves solving small environmental puzzles, like moving blocks out of your way or sliding across frozen floors. Many aspects of the stages react directly to your actions, like lasers that only move when you do and floor tiles that crumble after you walk over them; learning the intricacies of each of these mechanics and learning to exploit them to your advantage becomes an essential task in the later levels, which quickly ramp up in difficulty.

The result is a unique selection of short puzzles that combine intuition with the need for careful experimentation and planning, creating a uniquely engaging challenge.
