OverviewOverview

Robotry is an unusual platform game where you don't have a jump button. Instead you use two analog sticks to control each leg of your robot and in this way you take on a range of puzzles and challenges.

Play involves experimenting how you can use the different movements to get around. The body of the robot balances itself automatically and you walk by either taking alternating steps, or jump by pushing against the ground. This is extended with the ability to grab, throw, kick, climb and crank with the same basic system of control.

In each level you need to use these interactions to work with the physics of the game world control. Ideally this should lead to innovative and creative solutions to each scenario, but the fun is also found in the chaos created as players wrestle with the physics-based world.

It's made more interesting as you discover that practice and skill enable you to perform a range of complex and deft movements. You go from a glitching toddler to a somersaulting acrobat in the story mode, or tackle your friends in multiplayer versus modes.

There's a single-player and co-op mode where you help the astronauts do science experiments on different planets. There's also a multiplayer mode where up to 8 players compete to score the most points in various activities.
