OverviewOverview

Rog and Roll is a running and jumping game where you fight enemies and avoid traps. Unusually, you play a former henchman on a quest to save his friends from re-emerging tyranny. It features retro-inspired graphics and a humorous story where characters know they are in a video game and must fight to avoid falling back into stereotypical behaviour.

Play involves jumping over gaps and dodging enemies while defeating foes and collecting coins and secrets throughout. There are some sections where you play from a top-down perspective, but most of the time, you play from a side-on view in an homage to games such as Sonic and Mario. You encounter a variety of unique enemy types, from sentient trees to huge frogs, and face off against bosses and minions alike.

It's a unique gaming experience that allows you to play through a self-referential and comedic platforming game that offers a fresh challenge and will appeal to fans of old and new platforming games.

AccessibilityAccessibility

Our Rog & Roll Accessibility Report documents 20 accessibility features:
There aren't any difficulty settings, and there are some areas where you'll have to use precise inputs and several inputs one after the other in rapid succession.

The text throughout the game is large and of high contrast, with it being for the most part white or yellow against a black background, and subtitles are accompanied by a picture of the speaker for clarity.

As it is played on a 2D plane, it is easy to figure out where to go, and your HUD tells you the number of lives you have left and also how many coins you've gathered. When on a level select menu, you are told the difficulty of the level, indicated by a number of stars, and also whether you've already beaten the level, and, if you have, what your best time on the level is.

As all of the important info is conveyed visually, no sound is necessary to play the game well.
