You play as a park ranger, tasked with organising the animals in your wildlife park. You start with 33 Animal tiles, depicting different numbers of animals, randomly placed on your board. Each one can only move once which creates a wrestle of movement to both make gaps where you need them, as well as considering the destination of other matching tiles. These carefully balanced plans can be foiled by other players who take it in turn to choose which type of Animal tiles move.
As you play, more animals become locked into place, so your placement decisions become more difficult. Once all the tiles have moved, your score points for having the biggest herd of each animal. You also need to keep an eye on spaces you need to leave uncovered, or avoid surrounding, for extra points.
What looks at first like a very simple tile movement puzzle, quickly becomes a battle for space where each go you must choose between sorting out your own park or forcing the hand of your opponents - the best move of course being when you get to do both at the same time.
The first time you play it's worth trying the following:
- Play a few practise turns, where you discuss placement ideas. This should help you to get your head around the scoring system in a more practical way.
Play Time: This game will take between 20 minutes and 40 minutes to complete.
