Play OverviewPlay Overview

Scrap Mechanic (2016) is an open world-building game where you collect materials that are used to design machines, vehicles and buildings. You start at the site of a crashed spaceship, with just a few items and must hunt for supplies, fuel and food in order to survive.

You explore the world using your created vehicles and take on a variety of indigenous robots that attack you on sight. Winning these fights results in useful parts from the robots. The Totebots, for example, have heads that can be used to make music, Haybots can be refined for crafting.

The building is a simple snapping together of the different functional elements you find. But you can also specify how the different elements interact with each other, provide power and offer controls to the driver.

There is a creative mode, where you can focus on building with all the items in the game freely available. Here you can make an endless variety of buildings, vehicles, and machines, none of which require energy or fuel to function.

There is a challenge mode, where you are tasked with building 40 fun and testing challenges as well as the ability to create your own challenges and share with friends online.
