Play OverviewPlay Overview

Silver & Gold (2019) is a turn-and-write card game where you match shapes to find treasure. You flip over an Expedition card and then mark a matching shape of squares on your (wipeable) Island card. You race to score the most points by finding treasure, completing islands and earning bonuses in this pirate-y Bingo-style game.

Play involves turning over an Expedition card and then all players marking that shape of squares on one of their two islands. You are aiming to hit coins, buried treasure and palm trees. The treasure square lets you mark another bonus square. The palm tree gives you other bonus points.

The twist is that as well as sharing the Expedition cards to mark islands, you also share a limited number of trophies. Scoring coins the quickest means you get the bigger trophies. You can mitigate this by earning bonus palm points and completing Treasure cards.

It's really nice to be able to draw on your cards to track progress. Also, the available shapes of the Expeditions cards are displayed on the central scorecard. Once you are done you can simply wipe the cards down and play again. The result is a game with simple rules, fast action, luck, and planning as you race to complete treasure map after treasure map.
