Play OverviewPlay Overview

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (2023) is a fighting-adventure game and a sequel to 2019's Jedi: Fallen Order. As in that game, you explore and fight enemies with your lightsaber and force powers, but here you also have a blaster and new lightsaber fighting styles. It features new planets, characters, and a bigger story that links you to the Jedi of the past and an old mystery as you and your crew fight to survive.

You play Cal Kestis years after his run-in with Darth Vader at Fortress Inquisitorius at the end of the last game. When your ship is damaged in a daring escape, you turn to your old captain, Greez, to repair it, and find yourself caught up in a plot orchestrated by a rogue Jedi, Dagan Gera, from 200 years in the past. To survive, you must bring your crew back together and resist the same forces of darkness that corrupted Gera.

You run, jump, climb and swing through the various areas of the planets you visit similar to the Tomb Raider or Uncharted games. Your companion droid, BD-1, allows you to hack into the circuitry, unlock doors, activate bridges, and even restore your health through the stims he carries. Combat is tough, requiring quick reactions as you use your lightsaber, force powers and blaster to defeat enemies using a variety of moves. You can choose from five different ways to use your lightsaber, including a slower but more powerful crossguard stance as well as the lightsaber and blaster combination. Dodging and parrying incoming attacks is also essential, similar to the combat in Demon's Souls, although not as hard.

Meditation points allow you to restore your health and save the game but respawn all enemies, so strategic use of them is essential. They also provide access to the game's skill tree, where you can unlock new force powers and lightsaber moves.

It's a sequel that expands on the original's combat and exploration systems through the introduction of the blaster and new lightsaber stances with more expansive worlds to explore. This results in a game that's a fun challenge that pushes you to explore and use your abilities, both in and out of combat, in ambitious and creative ways.

Content Rating

Rated PEGI 12 for moderate violence to human-like and fantasy characters and use of bad language. This game features moderate violence, including close combat involving the use of lightsabres. While reactions are realistic, there is no bloody or gory detail. When characters are cut with lightsabres, the heat from the weapon cauterises any wounds. Cinematic scenes feature moderate violence, including people being punched and implied impalement, but again without any graphic detail. There is use of bad language, including '*!@?*', 'bloody' and 'ass'.
