OverviewOverview

Super Animal Royale is a 64-player online battle where murderous animals fight to be the last one standing. You explore and track down other animal players, using the environment and line-of-sight to your advantage. It's unusual both for its simple visuals and controls, but really stands out for just how much content there is to keep things fresh.

Play involves dropping down the island, hunting down other players and then shooting them. It's, of course, a bit like Fortnite. Here though, you play a range of different animals and the action is viewed from above and simpler to control. You move with one control Stick and shoot with the other, in twin-stick shooter fashion.

As you progress through rounds of the game you collect and customize creatures and weapons. This gives you more options for tactics as you get better at using both your firepower and the environment to get the upper hand. For instance, you can only be seen by other players if they have a line of sight to your player.

Like similar online battle royale games, there are periodic events and updates that keep the game fresh with new content, outfits, animals, and weapons to collect. Most recently this has included vehicles like a Hamster Ball and Giant Emus.

The result is a goofy take on the popular online battle style. But also it's a version that offers some genuine strategy and tactics for players wanting to progress through the ranks.

Content Rating

Rated PEGI 7 for mild violence that lacks any apparent harm or injury to fantasy or mythical beings and creatures. Violence in the game is non-realistic in nature and occurs between fantasy animal characters that walk on two legs and wear clothes. Reactions to violence are minimal. When their health bars are depleted, the animals fall to the ground without any injury detail.

Users Interact: The game enables players to interact and communicate with each other, so may expose players to language usually associated with older rated games.

Skill Rating

7+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. Although to do well you need some tactics and skill, really young players can still enjoy this as long as they are pretty good losers.
