Play OverviewPlay Overview

Sword of the Sea is a traversal game where you are a Wraith resurrected to restore life to a desolate world. Play involves exploring submerged ruins to discover the cultures that built them. It stands out for the flowing movement and beautiful vistas above and below the surface.

The world is made of shifting sand that behaves more like water than anything solid. You use your Hoversword to glide through sinking tombs. But also, you dive down to mysterious shipwrecks and discover armies petrified mid-battle. It's a game about movement and discovery. As you progress you draw giant shoals of fish and creatures to bring life back to the world, but all the time you need to beware of the massive leviathans that stand in your way.

From the artist behind Abzu, The Pathless, and Journey, it's a game with familiar rolling terrain, only the world itself flows in waves. The Hoversword adds a playful skating movement to the experience where momentum and speed mean you can use the slopes, ramps and half pipes to propel yourself high into the air and get to new areas.
