Play OverviewPlay Overview

Team Team (2022) is a communication game where you work together to be the fastest to organise tiles into different patterns. There are two roles, the Speaker and the Builder. The Speaker can only repeat one word and only the Builder can move tiles. It is about building a telepathic-like bond between you and your teammate, so they can be your hands to manoeuvre the pieces into the correct order.

You play as a team, with one of you taking on the speaking role and one of you taking on the building role. Each team competes to arrange the pieces to match the Pattern card. The twist is that the Speaker can only say a single word they are given and no other talking, moving or gesturing. The first team to complete the pattern wins provided its spot on.

As you play, you develop your own subtle communication systems and learn how to best communicate within the (sometimes infuriating) limits. What's fascinating is that the Speaker seems like the most important role, but it quickly becomes obvious that unless the Builder can be logical and systematic the Speaker is simply left shouting the (increasingly angry-sounding) nonsense word.

Our examiner, Rob Prior, first checked Team Team 22 months ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 7 months ago.
