Play Overview
The Mind (2018) is a cooperative sequence card game with a telepathic twist. Each card has a single number on it. Your task is to play them in order, the lowest first. However, you are not allowed to communicate physically or verbally to coordinate who plays next. What starts as a seemingly impossible task soon turns into an intuitive challenge to judge how long to wait to play, based on the number on your card.
Play involves a series of rounds where you are dealt an increasing number of cards. Each round you look at your cards and try to judge who should go first. Because you can't communicate all you can go on is how long you should wait. At first, it seems futile to even try but as you play (and fail and start again) you build up an understanding of how long the group is waiting for different numbers.
You start with some lives, depending on how many people are playing. Each time someone places a card that is higher than one in your hand you place that card and lose a life for having to play out of order. If you successfully play all your cards in order without losing all your lives you progress to the next round where you try again with an extra card in your hand.
Completing some rounds grant you lives back and the special ability to reveal everyone's lowest card, which can be played tactically. The challenge is to get all the way to round 12, something that will take not only teamwork but intuition, instinct and a bit of good luck.
