OverviewOverview

The Spirit and the Mouse is a puzzle game where you play a mouse with electrical powers who solves people's problems. You overhear conversations between townsfolk and use these hints as you explore and then solve simple puzzles to help them out of their troubles. Ratatouille It's this unique loop of listening out for clues then applying what you've heard that is both enjoyable and satisfying.

You play a mouse called Lila after a thunderstorm causes a power outage in the town of Sainte-et-Claire and imbues you with electrical powers from a strange spirit. It's up to you to recover the mischievous Kibblins responsible for the power cut and restore happiness to the townsfolk. You traverse the moonlit town at your own pace and listen to the woes of the residents. By doing so, you unlock quests that are completed by locating items and solving environmental puzzles hinted at in the residents' dialogue.

As you progress and bring happiness back, you find new and secret items which you use to decorate the streets and restore Sainte-et-Claire to its former glory. You also unlock new abilities which allow you to reach new areas and continue your mission.

If you enjoyed watching Ratatouille you'll love this because you basically are Remy. While it's a strange concept, the action of listening to people to progress and then solving puzzles to fix their problems highlights the importance of kindness and listening to others, and results in a game that's fun while also thought-provoking.
