Play Overview
Tres Undos (2022) is a hard puzzle game where you move blocks around a maze to fill holes and progress. The twist is that you can rewind time. On top of this the game layers the rewind ability to affect different elements differently. Then there are locations in the dungeons that can disable the rewinding for items. It's a complex mix of movement and time, but for those determined to solve a puzzle, it's a compelling one.
Play focuses on moving around the maze to push blocks around, and often into holes. You then have other buttons for the different layers of rewinding time. Like Braid and At the Hedges of Time, the challenge becomes considerable and not everyone will enjoy this. But those who are intrigued by solving it will find many hours of fun.
The result is a game that gets inside your head as you play and, inevitably, gets stuck. Different ideas and solutions need to be layered one inside the other until you get the blocks where they need to be. This is both frustrating when you are stuck and euphoric when you find a solution that works.
If you manage to solve them all there's even a level designed to try, and other players challenges to take on.
