What The Car? (2023) is an absurd racing game where you steer strange vehicles through odd and unpredictable landscapes. Play is a combination of steer and accelerating, but you use those controls in all sorts of car-related challenges. It stands out for the fun combination of the silly and the competitive - roll, jump, fly and sneeze your way to the finish.
It's a racing game where you aren't really a car. Well, you are a car but you have legs of varying sizes. This makes steering your way through each track all the more challenging as the game's physics makes you use your strange shape to your advantage.
As you progress you start to get a feel for the controls. Also, you find the many hidden shortcuts and less helpful explosives. Between races, you can explore the many islands to meet new friends, find hidden treasures or try your best at the quirky puzzles. There's even a level designer to make and share your own challenges.
The result is a game that's as fun as it is silly. And because of this, it appeals to players of all ages.
