Writer’s Block is a word puzzle game where you create words to fight. You take on quests and spell words to beat or evade the strange opponents. It's an unusual combination of combat and vocabulary where you battle mental monsters standing in the way of writing a book.

You start by choosing your protagonist before taking on challenging enemies with unique powers and weaknesses. Play involves connecting letters in your grid to form words. But you often need to think tangentially as the biggest word isn’t always the best one. You need to consider what abilities you have, how best to cause damage to the current enemy and how best to defend yourself.

Each time you take on a mission it's generated as a fresh challenge. As you progress through these challenges you earn literary devices to boost your strength and unlock more strategies. Demolish an enemy with an alliteration, deploy a deus ex machina, protect yourself with plot armour. At the end of each run you get a summary of your progress in book form, forever immortalized on a library shelf.
