Yarrr
Har Hunt

Play OverviewPlay Overview

Yarrr Har Hunt (2020) is a traversal game where you are a band of pirates working together to follow the clues and find buried treasure. You move from clue to clue but must work together and share movement to be efficient and find the treasure before the enemy pirate ship gets to the island.

Treasure Chest cards are placed face-down beside the board with a series of Clue cards on top. The first Clue card is shown and an X-marks-the-spot token is placed on the board at its location. Each turn you take a Movement Shell from a bag and move that number of spaces. If you land on an X token you take the related Clue card and reveal the next one, moving the X token accordingly. When you get to the last clue you get the treasure.

There are some nice twists. You can choose to give your Movement Shell to another player who may be closer to a clue or treasure. If you draw a ship Movement Shell, the pirate ship moves one space closer to shore and if it reaches the island the team has lost.

It's a clever game that's designed to enable very young players to play alongside older kids and adults. The surest path to success is for all players to share turns and work together to divide the finding of clues and treasure.
