The island features eight biomes, including tropical beaches and snowy mountains. As times passes in the game, the world's seasons change. It also features a dynamic weather system and a day-night cycle.
It's an unusual game because of your impact on the land. You can plant an acorn and return years later to find a tree. There is no need to level up because there are no levels, you don't need to worry about health because there is nothing to fight. You can wander unrestricted around the world. You can take it at your own pace and without pressure or drive to move on until you are ready.
7+ year-olds usually have the required skill to enjoy this game. You need the skill to explore an island and work to collect resources to build a home. Navigation of the world and communication with characters to gain information is key. Very young players can explore and feed the animals with help from an adult to explain and go on the specific quests.
