Play OverviewPlay Overview

Zombie Kidz Evolution (2018) is a cooperative traversal game where you work together to kill zombies invading a school. You move into the colour-coded rooms to deal with zombies and lock the doors to stop more monsters from appearing. The novelty is that as you play multiple games you get to open envelopes that give characters powers, adjust the rules and slowly turn it into a very different experience.

Play involves rolling a dice to determine which room gets new zombies, then moving through the rooms to deal with each of them. If more than three zombies get into one of the rooms you can no longer enter it to deal with them. If all the zombies get into the school you lose. You win by getting two characters to the doors and applying the Lock tokens. Lock all four doors and you win the game.

Each time you complete a round you put a brain sticker on the score track. You get to also place a trophy if you complete special missions defined in the rule book. At certain points along this score track you get to open sealed envelopes that change the way the game plays. You can also speed up progress to these envelopes by completing special missions.

For example, in the first envelope, you get a Hero Power for a character (additional roles, moving Zombies), a new list of achievements and an adjustment to the rules. These both up the challenge they face while also providing them with new powers and new heroes as well.
