Air Twister is a shooting game that focuses on aiming and dodging, like the classic Space Harrier game. As you race through a series of exotic locales you chain together multiple targets to score more points. This, and the strategies you need to defeat the boss encounters make it a surprisingly developed arcade shooter.

You play warrior Princess Arch, who must defend her homeworld from a horde of aliens. You move around the screen to target enemies as you automatically move forward, and dodge any incoming counterattacks. These simple controls place a heavy focus on skill and quick reflexes when facing off against larger groups and bosses.

Alongside the main story levels, there is an arcade mode where you test yourself against an infinite supply of enemies and try to get the top score. As you play, you unlock new cosmetic customisations such as different outfits and weapons.

A shooting game in its purest form, the difficulty comes from mastering the simple controls rather than memorisation or pixel-perfect timings. It's an adrenaline rush as you charge through the environments, dodging and shooting as you go.

After you die for the first time (this first run acts as a continuation of the tutorial), you can select what difficulty you want to play in, from Easy, Normal, Hard and Hardest, but the difficulty is only available on the arcade mode.

There are many moments where the screen becomes very cluttered with lots of enemies and effects, which can make it hard to distinguish different objects and items. Furthermore, some objects are similar in colour and can blend in with the background.

The text throughout the game is large and clear and is in high contrast to the background.
