Autonauts

Autonauts (2019) is an adventure game where you tame new worlds. You start with a blank slate similar to Sim City, but here you must build each dwelling, tools, and vehicle yourself. It’s a task that’s too complex for any one person to handle. You are soon forced to keep notes on what you need to do.

But then the twist comes - helper robots. You can program these robots to automate your tasks. Using a simple visual programming tool a bit like Scratch, you effectively learn to program these robots. It’s a bit complicated to start with but you soon get to grips with how to do it.

It all works because having done the leg work yourself, you appreciate how powerful and flexible it is to use the robots. The world you are building starts to grow and take shape faster, and you can move on to more ambitious tasks.

Expand further with the creation of colonists; beings that require your assistance to survive. Push your worker bots further by introducing fishing, cooking, housing, and tailoring and help the colonists into a state of transcendence.
