Nintendo's GameCube console was released in 2002 and the follow up to the Nintendo 64. It run games from discs and uses memory cartridges to save progress. You can plug in up to 4 wired controllers.
You can also play all Gamecube games on the Wii as it included that hardward, and ports for the GameCube controllers in the top. The Wii Mini removed this support to make it a cheaper console. The Wii U doesn't support GameCube games.
