Anki Overdrive Review

Author: Andy Robertson.
The Starter Pack comes with enough track for a range of circuits and two cars. This can be expanded with more track, cars and even trucks to extend gameplay. There is a theme Fast and Furious pack that includes cars and characters from that film franchise.
Unlike Scalextric, Anki Overdrive cars are powered rather than the track. This means you can flex the track or use it outside without problems. The cars can be loaded with a computer opponent of varying difficulty. Each of these virtual drivers has a backstory and voiced personality as you race. This offers an excellent single-player challenge. As you progress you can upgrade your car with new virtual weapons or special moves.
Rating: PEGI 3+, ESRB EVERYONE
Release Date: 28/05/2010
Platforms: Android and iOS
Players: You can play with 4 players in the same room, but you can’t play it online. The campaign can be completed relatively quickly, but this unlocks characters and power-ups for your car to use in multi-player battles that keep players entertained for much longer.
You can purchase cars and track at a substantial cost to expand the characters and possible layouts for racing.
