OverviewOverview

Civics! An American Musical is a narrative game where you create your own musical about important events in US history. You make choices about the look, style and historical accuracy of your production. Once you have finished your show you get to watch and hear the songs at the end of the game.

Drawing on the success of shows like Hamilton, you play the role of a theater producer adapting true events from United States history to the stage. It’s up to you to analyze primary sources from the Library of Congress and weave them into your hit smash Broadway musical hit.

By clicking to make careful choices, you work with different theatrical departments to learn about important aspects of creating a musical, such as costuming, set design, writing, and music. Once all the mini-games are complete, they are rewarded with a scene from their musical on opening night, completely personalized based on the creative choices they made during their game experience.
