Cruis’n Blast Review
Posted: 4 months ago, last updated today.
On Switch Cruis’n Blast offers 30 over-the-top tracks and 23 custom vehicles from licensed supercars to monster trucks and unicorns. As you can tell this is on the far end of fantasy arcade racing. The game offers five real-world locations (London, Madagascar, Rio de Janeiro, Death Valley, Singapore and California) but these continue the fantasy theme with buildings collapsing, planes crashing and Ferris wheels rolling across the road.
Different versions of the game are available:
- Cruis'n USA (1996) on Nintendo 64 and Arcade
- Cruis'n World (1996) on Nintendo 64 and Arcade
- California Speed (1998) on Nintendo 64 and Arcade
- Cruis'n Exotica (1999) on Arcade, Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Color
- Cruis'n Velocity (2001) on Gameboy Advance
- Cruis'n (2007) on Wii
- Cruis'n Blast (2017) Arcade, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Wii, Nintendo Switch
Skill RatingThis game is enjoyed by 8-12 year-olds as it's a good match for their ability and maturity. The bright, brash arcade style makes it approachable for younger children, although to do well requires skill, forward thinking and some memorisation.
