As you progress, new abilities are unlocked to further ease the intentionally difficult game. You solve puzzles, survive the rooms, and further the story. Disc Room is a difficult game that like other "bullet hell" games, requires quick thinking and sharp reactions to play. You will die many times but there are settings to help you.
The game progression is on a room-by-room basis meaning in less than a few minutes per room can progress you through the story.
Players: This is a single player game.
Disc Room involves dying a lot, if comic blood is not desired you can turn it off, change the colour of the blood, or turn the blood into confetti. There are areas of the map with Darkness which changes the colour of the screen, this can be changed from a list of preset colours.
You can make the game Low Pressure through settings to slow down game speed, the speed of various game objects as well as the ability to skip rooms and unlock the story without needing to "beat" a room. Makes this an interesting mix of exuberant game that's also low cognitive load if you like.
