Overview
You play through five distinct regions, four races with complex career paths and upgrades. As you gain experience you level-up through the skill-tree. You can also collect and craft a range of armour and weapons. Along with exploring the world, combat is fast and frantic. You need to press buttons with precise timing and in combination. These culminate in brutal finishing moves.
You learn about the world by talking with the population (or choose to rob or kill them). How you treat townsfolk has consequences, though. Particularly if you need their help at a later point in the game.
It's a huge game with almost endless lands to explore. This scope, it supported by a deep level of lore created by New York Times bestselling author R.A. Salvatore. Add to this the countless side quests rich in political intrigue, romance, sinister magic, and even whimsy and this is an enjoyable place to spend many hours.
The Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning brings this world to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, with enhanced visuals and game mechanics. A Nintendo Switch version is planned for release in March 16, 2021.

Age Ratings
Rated PEGI 18 due to depictions of extreme violence towards humans. Not suitable for persons under 18 years of age. This game contains frequent depictions of gross violence towards human-like characters, with large amounts of blood and graphic injury detail. A variety of weapons can be used, each of which has a gruesome finishing move paired with it. When they are killed, characters can be heard crying out in pain. After they are defeated, the player can loot the enemy's body.
The game also features depictions of motiveless killing of multiple innocent human characters. The player can enter locations full of innocent civilians and kill them. This causes surrounding civilians to run away in fear and hide. The game also features infrequent use of offensive language, including '*!@?*' and 'bloody'.
ESRB MATURE 17+ for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Suggestive Themes. Combat is accompanied by slashing impact sounds, screams of pain, and screen-shaking effects. Players can trigger slow-motion finishing moves (e.g., impaling enemies, tearing them in half) during combat; large blood-splatter effects occur as enemies are killed. A handful of cutscenes also depict large blood-splatter effects, as well as decapitation and dismembered body parts on the ground. During the course of the game, players can choose to attack/kill innocent civilians, though this may negatively affect players' progress. The game contains text and dialogue that reference suggestive material: “His trousers down, his passions flared/He groped with drunken hand”; “For hours, only the panting and sighs of love broke the silence”; "Her skin's luster…her heaving prow and ample stern…”; “That man became obsessed with me. Probably because we had sex. A lot”).
