Play OverviewPlay Overview

Pig Detective 3: Death on Detox Island (2020) is a point-and-click adventure. You play as Pig Detective who has been invited to Relax Island for a holiday, but soon his investigation skills are needed. The world is populated by talking animals in a 1930s hotel. A touch of Agatha Christie mixed with a pinch of hard-boiled detective novels and a tiny smidge of Beatrix Potter. Children will warm to the family-friendly mystery starring a pig.

Gameplay involves walking up to objects to examine them or collect them, and talking to characters to progress the story. Fans of LucasArts games of the 90s will recognise the nods to titles like The Secret of Monkey Island. There is a lot of narrative which is presented as voice-over and subtitles. It plays as an interactive mystery novel for young and old.

Pig Detective has become a mascot of sorts for the Dreams game-making platform and now involves a large team of creators and Media Molecule staff providing voices. This is the third Pig Detective game, the others being:
  • Pig Detective: Big Trouble in Little Cologne
  • Pig Detective 2: Adventures in Cowboy Town

Our examiner, Andrea Walney, first checked Pig Detective 3: Death on Detox Island (Dreams) 2 years ago. It was re-examined by Jo Robertson and updated 8 months ago.
