Overview
At the start of each run you have five heroes with different skills (Warrior, Acolyte, Adept, Thief and Defender. Each of their skills are mapped to the face of the dice so that when you roll the result determines the move you can make. Battles continue with first you and then your enemies taking turns to roll dice and assigning moves.
The twist is that you can see the results of these rolls before the attacks are resolved. You can then carefully assign your actions to counter as well as attack the enemies. This is extended as you play repeated rounds by the addition of items that improve the strength of attacks or parries. You can also unlock new types of characters with their own new abilities.
The charm here is not only the pixelated visuals and simulated dice rolls, but that you have so many ways to adjust the outcome of each run. On the surface things seem simple enough to plough through without much thought, but soon you realise that how you setup your team (and the related dice) at the start of the game greatly impacts your performance. Add to that the ability to reroll dice as well as undo choices as often as you like, and it turns into a never-ending loop of trial, error and tweaking.

Accessibility
You can undo any moves that you make after you see their results, as far back as the beginning of the turn, as long as no dice rolls have occurred. This allows you to try out different combinations of attacks and blocks without having to tally them mental, reducing the cognitive load, as well as allows for the opportunity to back out of accidental inputs.
You can stop and close the game at any time, even in the middle of a roll, and reload exactly where you left off.
There is only a small amount of reading in the game, but the reading is a moderately high complexity and is required to understand what abilities your characters and the monsters have in each of their die faces.
Technically playable without color but requires special attention. The game relies heavily on color to identify which dice belong to which characters, and where the attacks are being directed. However there are dotted lines connecting each character or monster to its die that become visible when you when you zoom in on them (if they aren't already) and the symbols are usually quite different between dice. There are some symbols that have an alternate version with a different effect when colored differently (example: blue for mana, pink for "pain" mana that also costs health), which is described in text when you tap on the die.
