The older Battlefront games were developed by Lucasarts, there was then a long gap until the new games that are developed by EA. The games have in common, the Star Wars setting and normally revolve around two armies – the Galactic Republic versus the Confederacy of Independent Systems or the Galactic Empire versus the Rebel Alliance or First Order versus the Resistance – fighting each other on various maps.
Star Wars Battlefront II offers a single-player story mode, an online multiplayer mode and a customizable character class system. The single player campaign and sheer volume of Star Wars characters, vehicles and locations is a big reason people enjoy this. In Battlefront 2 the story is set Between the time of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
Players: You can play with 2 players in the same room and up to 40 players online. Battlefront 2 provides an arcade mode where two players can work together to beat other units. A big draw for these games are the online multiplayer battles. Star Wars Battlefront II features twelve of these for up to 40 players online, along with an additional 24 computer controlled players.
This game has been rated PEGI 16+.
ESRB rated TEEN, lower than the main Battlefield game that is rated MATURE 17+. Players use blasters, grenades, pulse cannons, and sniper rifles to defeat enemy soldiers, armored vehicles/spaceships, and iconic characters. Combat is frenetic with laser gunfire, explosions, and cries of pain. Some characters can use light sabers and Force powers to engage in close-up combat; a Force Choke move allows players to pick characters up off the ground by their throat, holding them in the air for a time.
Users Interact: The game enables players to interact and communicate with each other, so may expose players to language usually associated with older rated games.
