Play OverviewPlay Overview

The Knight Witch (2022) is a shooting game where you fly through narrow caverns and avoid obstacles as you fight enemies with guns and magic powers. Alongside the exploration and combat, you buy weapons and armour upgrades, obtain cards that let you use spells, and make moral choices that affect how people see you. The combination of classic platforming exploration and discovery paired with the card-based spell system and the interactions with the people you meet make for a unique and engaging experience.

You play Rayne, a Knight Witch, able to use both conventional weaponry and harness magical powers to attack foes. When your home is threatened by an army of War Golems, it's up to you to fight off the invaders and uncover who's really behind the plot. As you explore caverns, forests, ancient ruins, and technological factories, you use every tool at your disposal to defend your territory. You become stronger as the people show you their gratitude and choose either to be honest or to manipulate them into making you stronger.

You use your floaty flying to navigate the caverns and avoid deadly spikes and other obstacles. Enemies are dealt with by guns and spells selected from cards you buy from shops. You increase in power through earning gratitude from the people you meet, who talk and discuss your good deeds. By manipulating the truth, you can increase their gratitude and therefore your power, but should they ever find out, they may get angry and weaken you. Choosing whether to remain honest or lie for personal gain, along with deciding what magic cards you want to have equipped, adds a substantial layer of strategy to the game.

The result is a unique twist on the platform genre that adds layers of strategy and morality along with fast-paced shoot-'em-up gameplay, pushing creativity, experimentation and player choices to the forefront.

Rated PEGI 7 for mild violence and use of bad language. There are occasional text-based conversations, one of which contains the use of the word '*!@?*'. The game also includes mild violence during gameplay. Human enemies flash when hit and disappear when defeated. Fantasy enemies explode and disappear immediately. When the player's character is hit, a heart icon is lost. When the player's health runs out, the character stops moving, darkens and disappears. All violence is non-realistic looking and the characters are also non-detailed.
