The Longest Road on Earth Review
Posted: 5 months ago, last updated 4 weeks ago.
With button presses and directions you guide characters through low key experiences: blowing a dandelion, picking up seashells and riding a bike. Each of these characters you play in the game, slowly tell their own poignant, dialog-free stories.
You can't fail or die, which makes the game sound more like a movie. However, your presence in the world is felt as you decide the pace, movement and timing of each story. Players of all ages, levels of ability and backgrounds can take part in the experience with simple controls and a relaxed pace.
The soundtrack is a big part of the experience as well. Original songs with themes and lyrics that seek serenity and simplicity. The result is a game that reports to be about the silence of life, but turns out to uncover the vibrant cacophony of even the smallest moments.
