Play Overview
Togges (2022) is an exploring and collecting game where you traverse brightly coloured worlds. You use coloured cubes, called Togges, to reach new areas and overcome obstacles. This isn't block pushing work like other platform games. Because you can spawn hundreds of these blocks and they have real physics, you use them to overcome environmental barriers and progress through the world.
You control the varied colours of Togges, who must work together with the King President to unite the cosmos, helping to protect the universe from a mysterious threat from the Void, far beyond the Endless Wall. You must get from world to world, collecting items and spreading the message of unity throughout civilisation to prevent the oncoming catastrophe.
You use the Togges to get around and solve environmental puzzles; create pathways around obstacles and scale walls in your quest for useful items, such as fruit. Each Togge colour has unique abilities which make it useful in different scenarios. Knowing which to use is essential.
As you progress you meet creatures who each have their own unique and amusing stories and quests. You can complete each world at your own pace, allowing you to do as much or as little beyond the main story as you'd like.
The result is an unusual platform game, drawing on the tactile locomotion of games like Mario Odyssey and environmental puzzles of Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, but weaving this into the physics of its own unique world.
