Toy Tanks is a multiplayer tank battle with tiny tanks. Inspired by Wii Play Tanks you take on enemies in a fight to the death arena. It stands out for reviving this same-room multiplayer format and injecting ideas from more modern games.

Play involves using your jump, dash, and shoot moves to outwit and out-gun your opponents. You can choose from different Tanks each with unique stats and abilities. It takes the classic tank-battle format and adds both speed and real physics to make things super competitive whether you are taking on the computer in the campaign or fighting friends in competitive battles.

Where Toy Tanks excels is in the attention to competitive detail. Like Towerfall, the dash move not only gets you out of trouble but you can deflect bullets if you time it just right. There are also loads of modifiers for the multiplayer mode to keep things fresh (and all sorts of wacky).

Our Toy Tanks Accessibility Report documents 32 accessibility features:
You can select a difficulty. Easy gives you more health and slows enemy tanks. Hard makes enemy tanks faster and smarter. You can also set some modifiers:
  • Retro: Slows the game down by 40%.
  • Team Play: Turns off friendly fire.
  • Brawler: Doubles your dashing damage and gives you a healing bullet to help your teammate.

When playing with Mouse and Keyboard you can opt to keep the reticule at a fixed distance from your tank.

Text is generally large (although not always great contrast) but there is some text in the level design and the level timer that is smaller. The tanks and bullets are outlined to preserve the good contrast.
