Twilight Drive is a racing game where you turbo, drift, and use a grappling hook to turn corners and get fast lap times. Along with racing your own times, an on-line leaderboard lets you compete with friends and family. It's a cross between Micro Machines and Trackmania, although currently only single player.

You view the car from above and race against the ghosts of your friends (and top medalists) as you try to find the perfect line for the fastest lap. It's a simple game with an unusual approach to assisted cornering. This keeps the focus on racing rather than fumbling with buttons.

There are 40 different tracks with different surfaces (grass, desert, sea, underground) and time of day, night, twilight. There's even dynamic music that adjusts to your race progress.

There is no difficulty setting but the game speed can be set to be 20%, 40% of 80% of full speed in the accessibility options menu. You can also magnify the visuals by 1.5 times standard zoom, and a separate option in the graphics settings menu to configure the field of view. Although you don't have to hammer any buttons, sometimes the steering requires a series of tapping left/right rather than holding down.

There is an option to turn on a voice-over function that speaks all menu items at either standard speed or double speed. All in-game tutorials are also spoken. This does not use your standard screen reader but instead uses specifically recorded sound files played like game sound, so will not be available to other accessibility technologies. This can be turned on in the accessibility settings menu, or by pressing F1 or H in any menu.

When you drive into the activation zone for a cornering tower there is an audio signal and the tower lights up to show you can attach. If your car skids, you get both a skidding sound and a tyre mark animation.

The high contrast mode changes the look of the tracks to highlight the track, run-off area and walls in bold colours to make them more distinctive. There is a toggleable direction indicator that makes the direction of the car clearer. It can be toggled in the accessibility options menu.

There are options to turn off weather (rain/snow) and a separate option to turn off animation of background objects (wind turbines, ocean waves) in the accessibility options menu.
