Play OverviewPlay Overview

Voyage (2021) is a cinematic adventure puzzle game, where you play alone or cooperatively to guide two survivors on their journey to unravel a mystery from the past and find their way home. You move through the world without guidance and must experiment to interact and solve puzzles to make your way onward. It stands out not only for its cinematic aesthetic but the sense of co-operation and connection between the two characters.

You explore the world, solving puzzles by moving blocks, running, jumping and interacting with the rich hand-drawn environments. But unlike other puzzle adventures there is no collecting of item to combine or use to progress. Instead, it's the world itself that is the puzzle and must be paid attention to so you can work out how to move through it.

The result is an emotional and non-violent game, developed by a Swedish team of two brothers. It has beautiful hand-painted environments and puts an emphasis on exploration as a shared experience that anyone can enjoy. It's unusual for its cinematic visuals, but also the shared exploration. It tells a story about the need we have for each other, but does this with a mysterious, wordless journey.

Our examiner, Goran Wallgren, first checked Voyage 3 years ago. It was re-examined by Ben Kendall and updated 6 months ago.
