You play hacker Marcus Holloway, who works with the hacking group DedSec. Unlike your lone role in the first game, here you are part of a vigilante movement aiming to overthrow the government surveillance. You do this by subverting the city's surveillance systems using smart devices to Hack buildings and other infrastructure. At the same time you have to ensure you are not discovered or identified. You can tackle missions in various different ways. Each completed assignment increases your follower count and offers new opportunities to develop your characters power and skills.
Again, like the first game you are using the environment and technology to achieve your aims. While you do this you have to take care to swing the public consciousness in the direction you want. At the start of the game your DedSec group is seen as dangerous vigilantes, but as you progress they are accepted as an important protest to the government.
Players: You can play this with 4 players online. There's a cooperative multiplayer mode where you interact with other players, explore the open world and complete missions together. While doing this you can communicate via the preset emote system. There are also other specific multiplayer modes that offer different ways to play from one-versus-one competitive missions, bounty hunting, 2 versus 2 short battle missions and four players head-to-head races.
